Research Consultations

Working on an independent study or seminar paper? Not sure where to get started? Stuck on a complex research question? Our expert Research Librarians can help you define a research topic, explore existing resources, learn about specialty resources, and develop and execute a manageable research plan. Make an appointment to meet with a research expert by emailing lawrefdesk@richmond.edu.

Research Instruction

Librarians teach the required 1L Legal Research I & II sequence.
We encourage students to deepen their legal research skills with advanced legal research electives:

  • Advanced Legal Research
  • Virginia Legal Research
  • Civil & Criminal Litigation Research
  • Corporate Law and Business Research
  • Public Policy Research & Drafting

Additional Learning Opportunities

The Library periodically offers additional opportunities for research instruction through fun, casual, and brief presentations. Keep an eye on the library website, student calendar, and announcement monitors, for information about upcoming programs.
