Lex Machina, a LexisNexis research tool, provides litigation and business data harvested from a variety of resources, including PACER, the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office, the International Trade Commission, and other sources of court filings and dockets. The database aggregates and synthesizes important information about judges, opposing counsel, parties, and cases, enabling users to identify meaningful patterns that aid in the practice of law. Lex Machina can be used to track a renowned judge's ruling history to understand their judicial motivations and philosophy, analyze attorney and judge data to identify trends in arguments and rulings and predict outcomes in a higher court, or build your strategy for a hypothetical issue and client.
