The Muse Law Library subscribes to a variety of collections to provide users with legal content in an alternative format. The E-books are electronic books(treatises, novels, etc.) that can be viewed using a computer, or handheld device. Some can be downloaded as PDFs. Others can be viewed in browser windows, while still others can be downloaded and viewed on dedicated devices such as an iPad.
If you think there are any e-books you think we should purchase, get in touch! Please submit suggestions to Molly Lentz-Meyer, Digital Collections and Archives Librarian, at mlentzme@richmond.edu.
Many of our e-book packages require Adobe Digital Editions (ADE), a free extension to Adobe Acrobat Reader. To install and use ADE, follow these steps:
ADE is pre-installed on Library computers.
An Adobe ID is not necessary to read e-books, but if you are using ADE on your personal computer (not a Library or public computer), Adobe recommends authorizing ADE with an Adobe ID. Your Adobe ID is free and completely separate from your NetID or other GU accounts.

ebrary allows users to download chapters or entire books! You can either:
You will see the download button when you are viewing a book in ebrary.
Once you choose to download an entire book, you will be prompted to sign in to your ebrary account. If you don't have one yet, create one by clicking on "Create an account."
Your download will expire after 7 or 14 days. Downloading the entire book requires using the free software Adobe Digital Editions and, on a mobile device, an app called BlueFire.
If you do not have Adobe Digital Editions, download it for free by using the link in the download box to connect to the Adobe site. Adobe Digital Editions works with a variety of platforms, including the Nook and several iPad and Android apps, but cannot be used on a Kindle.
