The National Conference of Commissioners on Uniform State Laws draft, promulgate and promote uniform laws. Uniform laws are designed to eliminate confusing disparities in laws between states. States can adopt, modify or ignore uniform laws as they see fit. The major Uniform Laws for Wills and Trusts are the Uniform Probate Code and the Uniform Trust Code.
