A Guide to the Executive Orders of the Second Trump Administration

Introduction

This guide offers resources for tracking the Second Trump Administration's executive orders (EOs), related policy decisions, and any corresponding litigation. In addition, there are sections on budgets, spending, and resources for specific groups.

The resources found throughout this guide originate from various providers and represent multiple different content types. (See examples below.)

Examples of sources in this guide:

  • Executive Order Text: Sources providing the full text of EOs as published in the Federal Register, in a self-updating list.
  • Legal Analysis: Content from law firms monitoring EOs and related legal developments.
  • Litigation Tracking: Sources providing "litigation trackers"—covering actions challenging Trump's EOs, and actions to enforce the EOs.
  • Policy Summaries: Summaries and analysis from news and policy organizations, often focused on specific subject areas (e.g., climate, education).
  • News and Commentary: Analysis and reporting from national news organizations (e.g., Wall Street Journal, New York Times), as well as Virginia based news organizations (e.g., VPM).
  • News Updates: Real-time news feeds and audio transcripts related to EOs.
  • Primary Source Materials: Access to legal and other primary source documents.

These resources are intended to assist researchers in understanding the development, interpretation, and impact of the second Trump Administration's EOs and related developments. Users are encouraged to critically evaluate the information found within the linked resources. The Richmond School of Law Library does not control the content of external sites.

This guide was initially developed by librarians at American University's Washington College of Law. We are publishing their initial collection with permission, enhanced with additions by the Richmond School of Law Library.
