This guide is designed to provide you with possible sources for your research of international courts & tribunals. This guide is not meant to be an exhaustive list of publications, databases and websites on your topic. Rather use this as a means of getting started on your research.
The guide is organized in the following manner:

- Court & Tribunal Information - Organized by type of court, each page describes individual courts including links to their websites and listings of publications providing relevant information. Types of courts include the following:

Sources of International Law
Article 38 of the Statute of the International Court of Justice dictates sources of international law...
a. international conventions, whether general or particular, establishing rules expressly recognized by the contesting states;
b. international custom, as evidence of a general practice accepted as law;
c. the general principles of law recognized by civilized nations;
d. subject to the provisions of Article 59, judicial decisions and the teachings of the most highly qualified publicists of the various nations, as subsidiary means for the determination of rules of law.
